Cairns is very well suited to walking, or transport by bicycle. Well trodden paths and dedicated walking tracks are popular. A walk through the Cairns Botanical Gardens is not to be neglected. It boasts 38 hectares of native tropical gardens which are kept to big city botanical garden standards, and many species found here cannot be seen anywhere else in the world.
